Common Core State Standards are designed to prepare students for success in college and the workplace.
If you work for any company when you are scheduled to work - you work that shift and the entire shift. If you are late even if you have an excuse you are still late, your pay will be docked and many companies have policies that are signed at employment that state if you are late / absent for 3 workdays, you are out.
1st Quarter 2012 there were 2984 students marked late.
1st quarter 2013 there were 3605 students marked late, an increase of 621.
In the 2nd quarter of 2013 there were 4954 students marked late, this is unacceptable.
In the spirit of the Common Core State Standards MHS will embark on a “Professional Student campaign” with our first goal of reduce the number of students marked late to zero. That’s right Zero!!!
We will start with attempting to meet milestones first a period with zero students late then a day, a week and a month. Throughout the campaign we will randomly select students who are on time for prizes as well as recognizing classes with 100% on time records, pay attention to the daily announcements for name and updates.
What is the definition of Late: If you are not in class when the late bell rings you are late period. Just like in the workplace if you are late 3 times there will be repercussions: 3 times a silent lunch, 5 times community service, 6 times Saturday school etc.
If we can significantly reduce the number students marked late for the 3rd quarter all students will earn extended lunch as well as other prizes pay attention to the announcements.
So don’t be tardy to the party
Arrive on time every time
Don’t be late!!!
